New Booklist

Hello everyone,
Here is a new list of books that you can choose from to write your posts on. Included are the rest from the last list and some new choices suggested by Lady Arwen and the Dodge. The order will progress in the same way as before, unless otherwise stated. Try to pick the books that you haven't read, so that you will have a fresh opinion and be able to discover new favorites. I will take off the books as we go along.

Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte
Roughing It - Mark Twain
All Creatures Great and Small - James Harriot
The Hobbit - J.R.R. Tolkien
The Bronze Bow - Elizabeth G. Speare
Little Britches - Ralf Moody
Johnny Tremain - Esther Forbes
Around the World in 80 Days - Jules Verne
The Spectre Bridegroom - Washington Irving
Shadow Hawk - Andre Norton
Two Gentlemen of Verona - William Shakespeare
North to Freedom - Anne Holm
Pinocchio - Carlo Collodi

That should keep us busy for a while. Thank you for participating in our search for good literature!

Thanks again,

The DC Board

  1. Great list!
Dewhurst, if possible, could you make the font a little larger so it's easier to read? It's readable, but I believe it would be easier if it were bigger. Thanks.
Everyone - there are some really great ones on this list - some of which are not very well-known, so like T.D. said, explore new books!!
    Happy reading.

  2. Yeah I will try to make it bigger. The font/type button was acting really wacky yesterday, but maybe it will be better today.

  3. Oh good! I am so glad that you like it now. I should have been more considerate! I am so sorry!

  4. Really, Lord A., it's OK. Don't worry about it.

  5. Ok, I won't worry, if that makes you happy... but, it was so thoughtless of me!

  6. Are you OK, Lord Anthony? Um...you are acting a little strange.

  7. Yeah, uh no - I mean I'm fine. Nothing's wrong.

  8. Really, Caesar, don't bother inquiring. I don't think there is anything wrong with him. Dewhurst is just being his peculiar self.
Anyway, I wonder when her is going to post. I hope it is soon.

  9. Sorry, I meant "when he is going to post." I wrote "her." My mistake.

    Don't take it personally, Dewhurst.

  10. Can we take off the Bronze Bow? Because it's really long and I sort of can't stand it. No offense or nothin'.

Also, try to read the ones left over from the previous list first.

  11. We might just have to have a debate about the Bronze Bow. I don't know. What do you think Lady A.

  12. I think just because somebody doesn't like The Bronze Bow doesn't mean we should take it off the list. Not all of these books are ones everyone is going to like; that's why we have the rating system. I mean, I happen to LOVE The Bronze Bow.
I think we should keep it on.

However, Tini is the boss, and if she insists we take it off the list, I'll consent.

    Thanks!

  13. I agree completely. I love that book too. So, maybe we will leave it on there and one of us will write about it.

  14. Yeah, email me the lists first from now on... and we probably shouldn't start a new one until we're done with the first one. Other than that, it's ok.

  15. And I will highlight the lists, don't worry about it.
